Acne, scars & skin texture

Enlarged pores

Visible, open pores, often on the nose, cheeks and chin.

What is it?

Pores are the openings of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands. Everyone has them, but in some people they are more noticeable than in others. On the nose, cheeks and chin in particular, they can look large and open.

How large your pores are is partly determined by predisposition. But you can make them less noticeable: by keeping them clean and by making the skin around them firmer.

Why do they stand out?

Oily skin often has larger pores: more sebum passes through them. If a pore becomes clogged with sebum and skin flakes, it stretches and becomes darker and more visible. Over the years, and because of the sun, the collagen around the pores decreases. The surrounding skin then gives less support and the pores look larger.

What we do about it

A facial with deep cleansing and possibly a peel cleans the pores, so they immediately look less noticeable. SkinPen and Advanced Microneedling stimulate the skin to make new collagen, which refines the texture. Morpheus8 works deeper and also firms the surrounding skin.

What can you do yourself?

Cleanse your skin well in the evening, even if you do not wear make-up. Use products that do not clog the pores and exfoliate gently a few times a week, for example with a product containing salicylic acid. Do not squeeze blackheads. Also read exfoliating: which method suits your skin?

How we approach it

Every treatment plan starts with a free 30-minute intake. Your skin therapist examines your skin and discusses what you would like to achieve. We then draw up a treatment plan together. Sometimes one treatment is enough, sometimes we combine two. You also receive advice on caring for your skin at home.

Frequently asked questions

Can pores become smaller?

You cannot make the pore itself disappear. But they can look much smaller: when they are clean and the skin around them is firmer.

Which treatment works best?

For an immediate result, a facial with deep cleansing. For a lastingly finer skin texture, microneedling or Morpheus8. We often combine them: first clean the pores, then work on the texture.

How many treatments are needed?

A facial has an immediate effect, but it lasts best if you come regularly. With SkinPen you do a course of 3 to 6 treatments, with Advanced Microneedling 4 to 6. With Morpheus8 one treatment is sometimes enough.

How much recovery time should I plan?

After a facial, none. After microneedling you are red for about a day, after Morpheus8 for 1 to 2 days.

Is the treatment covered by insurance?

No. Treatment of enlarged pores is cosmetic and is not covered.

How much does it cost?

An Instant Glow facial starts at € 79, Advanced Microneedling at € 185, SkinPen costs € 210 and Morpheus8 for the face € 550. All prices are on the prices page.
