About the treatment

What is Tixel®?

Tixel® improves severely sun-damaged skin, deep wrinkles and ageing skin. Acne scars and stretch marks also respond well to it. We use Tixel® instead of the fractional CO2 laser: the result is comparable, but the skin recovers faster and no anaesthesia is needed.

Tixel® does not work with laser light or radiofrequency, but with heat. The treatment is suitable for men and women of any age.

How does Tixel work?

First we thoroughly cleanse and disinfect your skin. The Tixel® then delivers controlled pulses through a matrix of small pyramids, which remain sterile throughout the treatment.

These pulses are very short (approx. 10 milliseconds) and cause rapid evaporation of the old skin. About 25% of the skin is treated per session; after 4 to 6 sessions, about 100% of the skin has been renewed. The production of new collagen and elastin continues for another 4 to 6 months afterwards.

Step by step

How the treatment works

  1. 01

    No anaesthesia

The treatment is not very painful; unlike with the CO2 laser, no anaesthesia is needed.

  2. 02

    After 48 hours

You may cover the redness and swelling with make-up.

  3. 03

    After approx. 5 days

Redness and swelling have completely gone; after about a week the skin has recovered.

  4. 04

    Next session

The next treatment follows after a month. The result improves after each treatment.

What to expect

Result

You get the best effect about 4 to 6 months after the last treatment: the production of collagen and elastin fibres remains active for up to 6 months afterwards. The result then stabilises. We advise a maintenance treatment after a year, or sometimes after a few years. You can choose to treat only the eye area or the whole face; scars can also be treated locally.
