Retinol, acids (such as glycolic, salicylic and lactic acid), arbutin and self-tanner are also called active ingredients. They irritate the skin. If it says "do not use", skip these products during that period. Plain, mild skincare is usually fine.

Before the treatment

  • Do not use products with active ingredients for 3 days before the treatment. Examples are self-tanning creams, retinol, arbutin, glycolic acid, salicylic acid and lactic acid.
  • Do you have active acne or an open spot in the treatment area? Let us know beforehand, so we can check whether the treatment can go ahead.

What to expect

Immediately after the treatment your skin is red and warm. The redness usually fades within 24 hours. Tiny dots from the needles, dry skin and slight swelling can remain visible for a few days.

After an eyelid treatment the swelling around the eyes may last a little longer. After 1 to 2 days your skin has usually recovered.

Recovery step by step

  1. The first 24 hoursKeep your skin dry and do not wash the treated area. Do not use make-up.
  2. After 24 hoursCleanse your skin gently with lukewarm water and apply a soothing cream.
  3. After 48 hoursYou may wear make-up again, preferably mineral. Intense exercise, hot showers and saunas are allowed again.
  4. After 1 weekYou may return to your usual skincare with active ingredients.
