Practical information

Privacy policy

To treat you properly we need some information from you, including about your health. Here you can read which information that is, what we do with it and what you can do if you want to see or change it.

Who is responsible?

Huidzorg Amstelland, Dorpsstraat 36, 1182 JE Amstelveen, the Netherlands, is responsible for processing your data. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 60470119.

Questions about privacy can be sent to info@huidzorgamstelland.nl or asked by phone on +31 (0)6 5758 3622.

What do we record?

When you come to us for treatment, we record:

  • your name, address, date of birth, phone number and email address;
  • your citizen service number (BSN) and your health insurance details, if we claim a treatment from your insurer;
  • what you tell us at the intake, such as your complaints, medication and relevant medical history;
  • notes on each treatment and, if you agree, photos of the treated skin;
  • a referral or letter from your GP or specialist, if you have one.

If you email or call us without coming for treatment, we only keep what we need to answer your question.

What do we use it for?

We use your data to treat you, make appointments, claim or invoice the treatment and contact you about your treatment. As a healthcare provider we are required by Dutch law (the WGBO) to keep a record of your treatment and to use your BSN when we claim from an insurer.

Photos in your records are only used to follow the progress of your treatment. We never post a photo of you on the website or Instagram unless you have given separate written permission beforehand.

How long do we keep it?

  • We keep your medical records for 20 years after the last change. This period is set by law.
  • We keep invoices and financial records for 7 years, as required by the Dutch tax authorities.
  • Emails and messages not related to a treatment are deleted once your question has been dealt with.

Who do we share it with?

Skin therapists are bound by professional confidentiality. We only share your data when your treatment requires it or when the law obliges us to:

  • with your GP or specialist, only with your permission;
  • with your health insurer when we claim a treatment. The insurer only receives the data needed for the claim;
  • with companies that provide software or services to us, such as our booking system (Access to Care), our records system (SkinAdmin) and our accountant. We have agreements with them on confidentiality and security.

We do not sell data and do not use it for other companies' advertising.

This website

We do not place cookies on this website and do not use advertising or tracking software. If we count visitors, we do so without cookies and without visitors being identifiable.

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. On every visit, Cloudflare processes technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the pages and protect the website against misuse. Cloudflare does this on our behalf, under a data processing agreement. We do not use this data to track visitors. Cloudflare is an American company and participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so your data is adequately protected outside the EU as well.

The Book an appointment page contains the Access to Care booking system. It is loaded from Access to Care's servers. What you enter there goes directly to Access to Care, not through this website. The system may use a technically necessary cookie to make booking work.

The map on the contact page is a fixed image from OpenStreetMap. No data is sent to anyone when it is shown. If you click the link to Google Maps, you go to the Google website and the Google privacy policy applies. You book an appointment in the Access to Care system, where their own privacy policy also applies.

Your rights

You may see your data and your records and receive a copy. If something is wrong, we correct it. You can also ask us to destroy your records. We will do so unless the law requires us to keep them or someone else's interest outweighs yours. On request we add a statement of your own to your records.

Send your request to info@huidzorgamstelland.nl or hand it in during an appointment. We will ask you to show ID, so we know we are giving the information to the right person. You will receive an answer within one month.

Security

Your records are kept in a secure system that only our practitioners can access. If you notice a problem with the security of your data, please let us know straight away.

Not satisfied?

If you disagree with how we handle your data, please discuss it with us first. If we cannot resolve it together, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. For complaints about a treatment, our complaints procedure applies.
