About the treatment
Which lesions can we remove?
With coagulation therapy we treat couperose and noticeable or broken capillaries, milia, fibromas (skin tags), seborrhoeic warts, enlarged sebaceous glands, age spots and small skin irregularities. With cryotherapy (the CryoPen) we remove pigment spots, age spots, seborrhoeic warts and common warts, such as plantar warts and warts on the hands. With curettage we scrape raised benign irregularities, such as seborrhoeic warts, off the skin.
Sometimes the lesions can be removed straight away during the intake. The skin therapist first checks that the lesion is benign and which method suits it.
Coagulation therapy
We use a small needle with a tip that heats up, so the unwanted tissue is coagulated very precisely. Within a few days there is usually nothing left to see. We also use this to treat dermatosis papulosa nigra: small, dark brown to black raised spots that mainly occur on darker skin.
Cryotherapy
The tissue is frozen very precisely with nitrogen. A few days later a small scab forms, under which new skin is produced; after 10 to 14 days the new skin is visible. Suitable for age spots, seborrhoeic warts, skin tags and pigment spots on the face or body.
Curettage
With an instrument that has a sharp round loop, we scrape raised benign irregularities off the skin. This leaves a small graze that heals in 7 to 14 days, depending on the location. For seborrhoeic warts we recommend coming back once a year for a maintenance treatment.
