No downtime and no preparation, but a temporary warm feeling and 4 weeks out of the sun.
At a glance
Visible recovery (downtime)
None to a few hours
A few hours of redness and warmth. Straight back to work
- Preparation
- No special preparation
- Hot showers, sauna, swimming and intense exercise
- No hot showers, baths or sauna for the rest of the day
- Sun and sunbeds
- Avoid for the first 4 weeks after the treatment
- Retinol, acids and self-tanner
- Carry on as normal
Retinol, acids (such as glycolic, salicylic and lactic acid), arbutin and self-tanner are also called active ingredients. They irritate the skin. If it says "do not use", skip these products during that period. Plain, mild skincare is usually fine.
Before the treatment
- You do not need to do anything special beforehand. You can keep using your normal skincare, including active ingredients.
What to expect
After the treatment your skin may feel red and warm for a few hours. Slight swelling is possible. You can go straight back to work.
After the treatment
- For the rest of the day, avoid hot showers, baths and saunas.
- For the first 4 weeks after the treatment, stay out of the sun as much as possible and do not use sunbeds. Use SPF 30 to 50 and reapply it every two hours. At the practice we have SPF products from Dermaceutic and Alpha-H.
- Keep your skin hydrated with a mild cream.
